Loscoe Wheel - Dedication Memorial
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the closure of the Ormonde Colliery,
a dedication memorial was held at the Loscoe Winding Wheel.
A blessing was given by Reverend Michael Alexander and musical entertainment
was provided by the Hucknall & Linby Mining Community Brass Band.
After an interval during which refreshments were served in St. Luke's Church,
the band played the second part of their programme, which was warmly received
by the audience.

The mayor thanks the band at the end of the first half of their performance. The second half
will take place out of the wind in St. Luke's
Church where there will also be refreshments and a small exhibition about the local mining
industry.
There's also information about the
small but important nature reserve, the Red River Nature Reserve.

| The second half gets under way. Favourites include Ashokan Farewell and,
as an encore Jerusalem.
